Salina Man Arrested After Alleged Burglary at Dollar General
A Salina man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly breaking into a Dollar General store on East Crawford Street.
At approximately 4:45 a.m. on July 29, officers responded to an alarm at Dollar General, 840 E. Crawford Street. While officers were en route, a citizen called 911 after hearing a loud noise coming from the business and reported seeing someone inside the store.
When officers arrived, they found the front glass door had been shattered. Officers then observed a suspect dressed in dark clothing inside the business and took him into custody without incident. Officers searched the building and confirmed no other suspects were inside.
The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Michael K. Patterson of Salina.
Police said Patterson had attempted to steal merchandise from the store, although the items were still being inventoried at the time of the report.
Patterson was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property.
The investigation remains ongoing.
