Draft Horse Pull and Jaron Bell Concert Highlight Tri Rivers Fair

The Tri Rivers Fair always features one of its most beloved traditions: the draft horse pull. This competitive event, which began appearing at fairs during the 1960s and 1970s, consistently fills the Ag Hall stands with spectators eager to celebrate the region's deep farming roots and the  teamwork between animals and humans.

The competition showcases the impressive strength of draft horses as each team takes turns attempting to pull a variety of weighted metal sleds. To advance to the next round, a team must successfully pull the sled at least 20 feet, with the weight increasing each successful round.

In addition to the draft horse pull, fairgoers enjoyed a concert by country artist Jaron Bell, adding musical entertainment to the agricultural festivities.
