Vergil "Virgil" Dean Sprague

Vergil "Virgil" Dean Sprague, 89, of Lindsborg, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Virgil was born on March 6, 1937, in Gypsum, Kansas, to William H. and Alta D. (Tracy) Sprague.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. His military service was a source of pride throughout his life.
Throughout his working years, Virgil was employed in warehouse operations for Gibsons, Farm Bureau, American Electric, and Walmart. He also served as the night manager for two retirement communities.
He is survived by his four daughters: Vicky Troyer of Durant, Oklahoma; Roxanne Kendrick (Kerry) of Lindsborg, Kansas; Lora Gordon (Richard) of Lindsborg, Kansas; and Shelly Quiring (Lynn) of Queen Creek, Arizona.
Virgil is also survived by his grandchildren: Melissa Stanton, Rodney Tillett (Chasity), Constance Tom, Nathan Kendrick (Laura), Renee Youngers (Nathan), Jacob Barnes (Danielle), Kevin Barnes, Tiani Barnes, Shayla Barnes (William), Mason Barnes (Leslie), Malia Barnes, Autumn Mersch (John), Michael Barnes, Dustin Gordon, Chris Gordon (Ursula), Scott Quiring (Stephanie), and Bryant Swanson; as well as 25 great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include his sister, Darlene Rue of Hutchinson, Kansas, and his brother, Warren Sprague (Sandy) of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Sharon Sprague; his sisters, Mary Lou Kelly and Alta Grindell; and his great-grandson, Austin.
In accordance with Virgil's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 6th, at Village Bible Church in Salina, Kansas.
Burial will follow at Gypsum City Cemetery in Gypsum, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rebecca A. Morrison House, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

Robert Hernandez

Robert Hernandez, 94, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Robert was born on June 7, 1932, in Salina, Kansas, to Ramon and Carmen (Torres) Hernandez.
He worked for the Carpenters Union for many years and proudly served his country in the National Guard, the United States Air Force, and the United States Marine Corps.
Robert enjoyed reading, gardening, and woodworking. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
On September 21, 1957, he married the love of his life, Aster (Garibay) Hernandez, who survives him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Aster Hernandez; six daughters, Angela Monk (Paul) of Salina, Kansas, Elena McLaughlin (Terry) of Salina, Kansas, Cindy McKinney (Bill) of Maize, Kansas, Rosemary Barrios (Bob) of Salina, Kansas, Anna Schuetz of Salina, Kansas, and Natalie Hernandez of Salina, Kansas; and two sons, Robert Hernandez (Leslie) of Salina, Kansas, and Paul Hernandez (Yolanda) of Salina, Kansas.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; his sister, Maggie Hearns (Jim) of Napa, California; and his brother, Raymond Hernandez of Salina, Kansas.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Carmen (Torres) Hernandez; his stepmother, Victoria Hernandez; his sisters, Isabel Hernandez and Mary Camarena; his brother, Joe Hernandez; and his son-in-law, Clay Schuetz.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina, Kansas.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Salina.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Dignity Care Home for their compassionate care and support.
