Kenwood Cove Reaches Capacity Saturday, Some Amenities Closed Due to Lifeguard Staffing
Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park has reached its Saturday capacity and is no longer accepting additional guests at this time, according to an update from the City of Salina facility.
The park previously announced that admission would be limited to a maximum of 500 guests Saturday, Aug. 8, because of available lifeguard staffing.
Kenwood Cove officials said the kiddie pool, kiddie slide and lap pool are also closed Saturday. Admission prices were reduced by $2 per person because of the limited amenities.
The park said staffing levels may require temporary changes to operations during the final two days of its season in order to maintain appropriate lifeguard coverage.
After reaching capacity Saturday afternoon, Kenwood Cove said it anticipates possibly being able to admit additional guests around 5 p.m., but officials will post another update when space becomes available.
The park said the capacity limits and temporary closures are being implemented to ensure staff can safely supervise the areas that remain open.
