Verizon Service Disruptions Reported in Saline County as Wireless Issues Surface Nationwide
Multiple Verizon customers in Saline County reported cellular service disruptions to Salina311 Saturday afternoon as similar problems were being reported across the country.
The local reports began coming into Salina311 Saturday afternoon, with customers reporting problems with Verizon wireless service.
The reports do not appear to be limited to Saline County.
National outage-tracking data showed a rise in service complaints involving Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile during the 3 p.m. Eastern, or 2 p.m. Central, hour Saturday. Thousands of customers across the country reported problems involving the three major wireless carriers.
Other wireless and telecommunications providers, including Boost Mobile, Straight Talk and Xfinity, also received outage reports Saturday.
As of late Saturday afternoon, a cause for the disruptions had not been publicly identified.
It is also not yet clear whether the Verizon problems being experienced in Saline County are part of the broader nationwide disruption or involve a separate regional network issue.
Verizon provides an online network-status tool that allows customers to enter their location and check for known network issues in their area.
Salina311 is continuing to receive reports from Verizon customers in Saline County and will update this story as additional information becomes available from Verizon or other confirmed sources.
