Salina Man Arrested Following Domestic Violence Incident on Garden Street
A Salina man was arrested Sunday night following a reported domestic violence incident in the 900 block of Garden Street.
Just after 9 p.m. on Aug. 23, officers responded to the residence after receiving a report of a physical domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 43-year-old woman who reported she had been involved in an argument with 54-year-old Homero Vega, a known associate who resides at the home.
According to the woman, the argument escalated when Vega allegedly grabbed her and began choking her. The victim reported she was able to strike Vega, causing him to release her.
The woman declined medical treatment at the scene.
Vega was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Saline County Jail.
He was booked on one count of aggravated domestic battery and one count of domestic battery.
The investigation remains ongoing.
