Salina Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening and Striking Security Guard
A Salina man was arrested Friday night after allegedly threatening and striking a security guard in the 100 block of East Mulberry Street.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 28, officers responded to the area following a report of a disturbance. According to police, a security guard conducting routine patrols was alerted by a nearby business about a man causing problems in the area.
The individual was identified as 52-year-old Phetsakhone Sayaphouthone of Salina. The security guard contacted Sayaphouthone and instructed him to leave the area. Police said Sayaphouthone became belligerent and attempted to enter a locked business. The security guard informed him that the business was closed and again advised him to leave.
As Sayaphouthone walked away, he allegedly threatened to kill the security guard.
According to the report, when the security guard attempted to contact law enforcement, Sayaphouthone returned and began striking him. The security guard was not injured during the incident.
Responding officers located Sayaphouthone and took him into custody without incident.
Sayaphouthone was booked into the Saline County Jail on charges of criminal threat and battery.
The investigation remains ongoing.
