Multiple Firearms Stolen During Residential Burglary on Northlink Road
Salina Sheriffs Department are investigating a residential burglary in the 4100 block of Northlink Road that resulted in the theft of multiple firearms.
According to law enforcement, the burglary occurred sometime between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. after a suspect or suspects broke a rear window of the residence to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect targeted a gun cabinet and stole several firearms.
The homeowner returned to the residence at approximately 3:00 a.m. and went to bed without noticing the break-in. The burglary was discovered later that morning at about 11:30 a.m., at which time law enforcement was contacted.
Stolen firearms include a Remington .22 rifle with a brown wooden stock, a Remington Model 597 rifle, a Remington Model 552 .22 rifle, a Remington Model 1148 12-gauge shotgun, a Remington 20-gauge shotgun with a wood stock, a Remington .30-06 rifle with a scope, a Remington Model 700 rifle with a scope, and a Remington .260 caliber rifle.
The total value of the stolen firearms is estimated at approximately $2,900. Damage to the residence and gun cabinet is estimated at about $500, bringing the total loss to approximately $3,400.
The investigation is ongoing.
