Salina homes for sale down about 21% from mid-August
Salina had about 21% fewer homes for sale at the end of August than in mid-August, according to a daily snapshot of active listings for the city.
The count stood at 136 homes on Aug. 31, down 36 from 172 on Aug. 18. Over those roughly two weeks of available snapshots, the daily tally averaged about 135 homes. The lowest day in the window was 118 on Aug. 27; by Aug. 31 the count had moved back up about 15% from that low.
Compared with a week earlier (122 homes on Aug. 24), the Aug. 31 figure was about 12% higher. Compared with the day before (125 on Aug. 30), it was up about 9%.
The snapshot covers current for-sale home listings for Salina, Kansas — exact-city results that are deduplicated and exclude land, mobile homes, and nearby communities. Figures come from Realtor.com search results for Salina.
Nationally, Realtor.com reported 1,140,035 active U.S. listings in August 2026, up 3.6% from August 2025. Active listings in the Midwest rose 10.5% year over year in the same monthly report.
