Salina homes with price cuts fell from mid-August high of 53
Salina had about 25% fewer homes listed with a price cut at the end of August than in mid-August, according to a daily exact-city snapshot of for-sale listings.
The count stood at 40 price-reduced homes on Aug. 31, down 13 from 53 on Aug. 18. Over those roughly two weeks of available snapshots, the daily tally averaged about 40 homes. The lowest day in the window was 33 on Aug. 30; by Aug. 31 the count had moved back up about 21% from that low.
Compared with a week earlier (35 homes on Aug. 24), the Aug. 31 figure was about 14% higher.
The snapshot covers current for-sale home listings for Salina, Kansas — exact-city results that are deduplicated and exclude land, mobile homes, and nearby communities. Figures come from Realtor.com search results for Salina and count homes that show a price reduction.
The available window is short — about two weeks of daily snapshots through Aug. 31 — so it shows a clear drop from the mid-August high, with a late bounce off the Aug. 30 low, without establishing a longer-term market trend.
Nationally, Realtor.com’s August 2026 housing report said 20.4% of U.S. active listings had a price reduction in August, matching the year-ago rate; the Midwest share was 19.6%. That national figure is a share of all active listings, while the Salina measure is a count of price-reduced homes.
