Saline County Home Sales Fall in August While Median Price Rises
Saline County recorded 67 home sales in August 2026, down 14.1% from 78 sales in August 2025, according to data released by the South Central Kansas MLS and analyzed by Wichita State University’s Center for Real Estate.
Total sales volume fell to $15.2 million, a 9.0% decrease from the previous year. Despite fewer transactions, the median sale price increased 2.6% to $205,000, up from $199,900 in August 2025. Homes that sold during the month typically spent just three days on the market and closed at 100% of their list price.
The number of homes actively listed for sale at the end of August dropped sharply to 81, down 28.3% from 113 listings a year earlier. This represents a 1.4-month supply of homes on the market. The median list price of active listings remained steady at $219,900.
Contracts written during the month rose 20% to 60, compared to 50 in August 2025. At month’s end, 73 contracts remained pending.
Year-to-Date Trends
Through the first eight months of 2026, Saline County has seen 478 home sales, down 4.0% from the same period in 2025. Median sale price year-to-date stands at $210,000, up 5.0% from last year.
