Salina Catholic Schools to Hold Grandparents Day Friday
Salina Catholic Schools will host Grandparents Day on Friday, Sept. 11, with activities planned at Sacred Heart Jr.-Sr. High School and St. Mary’s Grade School.
The day will begin with buildings opening at 9 a.m., followed by a welcome and student performances at 9:30 a.m. An all-Salina Catholic Schools Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart. Activities at St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart will begin at 11 a.m.
Sacred Heart students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m., while St. Mary’s dismissal is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
Salina Catholic Schools described the event as a morning of student performances, Mass, activities and time for grandparents to spend with their grandchildren.
Grandparents Day has drawn large crowds in the past. In 2024, Salina Catholic Schools reported that more than 800 people attended the Grandparents Day Mass, with more than 1,000 people visiting campus during the broader Grandparents Day and Alumni Weekend.
The schools are also continuing to seek volunteers for this year’s event.
