Marble-Size Hail Moving Through Saline County Saturday Night

Marble-size hail is currently falling in portions of Saline County as thunderstorms move through the area late Saturday night.

As of about 11:15 p.m., storms are moving through the county, bringing hail, heavy rain and lightning to parts of the area.

Residents may want to move vehicles under cover and secure anything outdoors that could be damaged by hail or strong winds.

The National Weather Service in Wichita had warned earlier Saturday that thunderstorms would remain possible through late tonight across Saline County. The strongest storms were capable of producing hail as large as golf balls and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

The Storm Prediction Center also placed portions of the central and southern Plains under a risk for severe thunderstorms Saturday, with large hail and damaging winds among the primary hazards.

Salina311 is following the storms as they move through Saline County.
