Salina Design Review Board Elects New Chair and Vice Chair
The Downtown Design Review Board elected new officers at its annual business meeting, with Jessica Herrman chosen as chair and Julie Cates elected vice chair.
Staff explained that the board's bylaws call for electing a chair and vice chair at the first regular meeting in September, with officers serving one-year terms and no member holding either office for more than two full consecutive one-year terms.
Michael Freeland, who served as chair the past year, was nominated to continue but declined the nomination, saying he would remain on the board while stepping down from the chair position. Herrman, who served as vice chair the past year, was then nominated for chair and elected by voice vote. Cates was nominated and elected vice chair by voice vote.
Staff noted the board's next regularly scheduled meeting is September 24, with two items on the agenda and a possible third.
