Salina Man Arrested After Domestic Disturbance and Robbery Report
A Salina man was arrested Saturday night following a reported domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of Gypsum Avenue.
Officers responded to the area at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 12 and contacted a 44-year-old woman who reported she had been involved in an argument with a known associate, identified as 40-year-old Demetrius Carruthers of Salina.
According to the victim, Carruthers struck her several times and pushed her to the ground during the altercation. The victim further reported that Carruthers tore a necklace from her neck and left the area with the pendant.
Officers located Carruthers a short time later near Stapler Avenue and Connecticut Avenue. Police reported that Carruthers attempted to flee as officers tried to take him into custody and continued to resist after being tackled.
Carruthers was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of robbery, domestic battery, criminal damage to property, and interference with law enforcement.
Investigators recovered the broken chain at the scene, but the pendant had not been recovered as of the report.
