Salina Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Multiple People

A Salina man was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly making threats toward multiple people in the 100 block of N. Seventh Street.
Officers responded to the area at approximately 4 p.m. on Sept. 14 after receiving reports of a man threatening individuals nearby. The suspect was later identified as 44-year-old Derrick Miles.
According to police, Miles followed a woman into a business while threatening to kill her. Once inside, he allegedly threatened to kill a front desk employee as well. An employee confronted Miles, causing him to leave the business.
After exiting, Miles allegedly began striking and banging on the business's windows before sitting on a nearby bench. As a precaution, the business evacuated employees and customers through a rear exit.
Officers located Miles a short time later and took him into custody without incident.
Miles was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of aggravated criminal threat and two counts of assault.
