Golf ball–size hail confirmed east of Salina in Saline County

Update: Golf ball–size hail has been confirmed east of Salina in Saline County as strong storms moved through Saturday evening.

Readers reported hail larger than a quarter — confirmed at golf ball size — hitting areas east of Salina. Local photos show jagged stones collected after the storm.

Damaging winds were also reported with the storm, including gusts over 70 mph in the storm area. National Weather Service and Storm Prediction Center listings were still updating Saturday evening; watch for additional local storm reports from Saline County.
