Salina Man Arrested Following Disturbance at Big Nose Kate's

A Salina man was arrested early Saturday morning following a disturbance at Big Nose Kate's, 121 N. Santa Fe.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 19, officers responded after a man reported that two people inside the business had pointed a handgun at him when he attempted to enter the establishment.

During the investigation, officers spoke with business staff and the reporting party. Officers learned the man had previously been removed from the business and had been told to leave because he was acting erratically.

According to police, when officers confronted the man with information gathered during the investigation, he attempted to flee. Officers pursued and arrested him after he allegedly resisted and fought with officers during the arrest.

The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Kyven D. Maddox of Salina. Police utilized a body wrap restraint before transporting him to jail.

Maddox was booked on requested charges of making a false report, interference with law enforcement, and criminal trespass.
