Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Kwik Shop Employees with Knife

A Salina man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly threatening employees with a knife at Kwik Shop, 1727 W. Crawford.
At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 23, officers responded to the convenience store after receiving reports of a man threatening employees.
According to employees, 43-year-old Maurio Williams had been inside the store earlier and was asked to leave because of belligerent behavior. Williams reportedly left the business but returned a short time later.
Police said Williams then threatened to stab a store clerk while holding a knife. Officers arrived and found Williams still on the property with the knife in his possession.
Officers were able to convince Williams to drop the knife and took him into custody without incident.
Williams was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of aggravated assault, criminal threat, and criminal trespass.
