Teen Passenger Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at Simpson and Farrelly

A teenage passenger was transported to a Salina hospital following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Simpson Road and Farrelly Road.
First responders were dispatched to the intersection at approximately 3:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving an orange 2001 Dodge Dakota and a blue 2008 Ford F-250.
According to authorities, a 16-year-old male was driving the Dodge Dakota eastbound on Farrelly Road with a 17-year-old male passenger. Investigators reported the Dodge stopped at the stop sign before attempting to turn north onto Simpson Road. The driver then pulled into the path of a northbound Ford F-250 driven by a 47-year-old Salina man.
The Ford struck the Dodge, causing the pickup to leave the roadway, roll into a ditch, and come to rest on its side. The Ford remained in the roadway following the collision.
The 17-year-old passenger in the Dodge was reported to be semi-conscious at the scene, vomiting, and displaying symptoms consistent with a possible head injury. The passenger was transported by Salina EMS to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment.
The 16-year-old driver of the Dodge and the occupants of the Ford, including the 47-year-old driver, his wife, and an 8-year-old child, were reported uninjured.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
