Patrick Seamus Kelly

April 3, 1980 - September 24, 2026

Patrick Seamus Kelly passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 46.

Patrick was born on April 3, 1980, the first grandchild of Leo and Florence Kelly. Their daughter, Patrick’s mother, Susan Gail Kelly, loved him dearly and from the very beginning believed he was destined for greatness. Patrick grew up surrounded by the love of both his immediate and extended family. He shared a particularly close bond with his grandfather Leo and treasured every opportunity to learn alongside him in the garage and on the farm.

Patrick attended Most Pure Heart of Mary Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas, through eighth grade, and then spent four much-loved years at Hayden High School in Topeka. During that time, he developed a deep love for drumming and practiced tirelessly to achieve remarkable speed and precision. His talent became well known in Topeka, where he was often invited to serve as the lead drummer for college events and band performances, and he was offered full-ride college scholarships for his musical ability. Patrick, however, chose a different path — one centered on love and adventure.

On July 1, 2000, Patrick met his future wife, Ginger Yates. The two became engaged during a soft snowfall outside a little white chapel on December 24 of that same year. They moved to the McPherson/Salina, Kansas region, in 2002 and were married on September 20, 2003, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church in Topeka.

Patrick worked at Lowe’s for much of his professional life, but he found special purpose in his service as an EMT and Reserve Sheriff’s Deputy in Saline County, Kansas. Helping others in times of need was one of his greatest passions.

Patrick and Ginger welcomed two sons, Grady Patrick Kelly in 2008 and Brogan Oliver Kelly in 2010. Patrick was a devoted father who encouraged his boys to be strong, independent, and confident as they grew. He was immensely proud of them and loved sharing their accomplishments in scouting, school, piloting, sports, and many other pursuits.

Throughout the years, Patrick especially enjoyed spending time with his family in the mountains, making memories in both Colorado and Tennessee. His dearest hope was to retire in one of those beloved places.

As time passed, Patrick’s health began to decline due to chronic pain from neuropathy and neck and back issues. These challenges forced him to give up some of the work he loved most, including mechanical projects on his favorite blue Ford truck and his wood and metal craftwork. Even so, Patrick experienced two extraordinary health blessings earlier in life. In 2015, he underwent surgery to remove a large thoracic aortic aneurysm, preventing a likely aortic dissection or rupture. In 2023, he underwent nephrectomy after cancer was discovered in one of his kidneys. He credited these early diagnoses and life-saving interventions to God’s grace and to his grandfather Leo watching over him.

In 2021, Patrick and his family moved to the Tescott, Kansas, area, where they settled on 80 beautiful rolling acres and built an all-oak timber-frame cabin designed by Patrick himself. Over the years, Patrick made many lasting connections across Kansas. Most recently, he worked part-time transporting people to medical appointments throughout the state, helping others while exchanging stories and companionship along the way.

Patrick will be remembered for his blunt honesty, quick sarcasm, deep faith in God, steadfast love for his wife and children, and unwavering loyalty to his beliefs. He loved his family fiercely, and that love was returned completely.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Ginger Kelly (Yates); his sons, Grady Patrick Kelly, 18, and Brogan Oliver Kelly, 15; his aunt, Mary Kelly-Herman; his uncles, Patrick Kelly and James Kelly; his mother- and father-in-law, Maureen Yates (Karry) and Darrel M. Yates; and his brothers-in-law, Chad Yates and Derek Yates. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo and Florence Kelly, and by his mother, Susan Gail Kelly.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation and viewing on September 29, 2026, from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St., Salina. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on September 30, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N. 9th St., Salina. The graveside committal service will be held at a later date at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 801 SW Westchester Rd., Topeka.

Patrick’s memory will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial gifts in Patrick’s honor to support his sons’ higher education and future educational goals. Helping his boys build their futures would be a particularly meaningful way to remember Patrick and the love he had for his family.

Teresa Anne Bellerive

May 8, 1961 - September 23, 2026

Teresa Anne Bellerive passed away on September 23, 2026, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Teresa persevered with fierce determination, courage, and grace.

Teresa was born on May 8, 1961, in Huron, South Dakota to Robert and Marjorie (Devine) McDermott. She spent most of her life in Salina, Kansas.

On May 23rd, 1986, Teresa married the love of her life Brian Bellerive. They shared a 40 year journey filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Along the way, they were blessed with three sons.

Teresa loved garage sales often talking her way into pre-sale access. She loved time with family and friends, cheering her boys on and the perhaps more than occasional Michelob Ultra. When a rally was needed, she encouraged everyone to rub their thighs certain that it would lead to victory. She was especially convinced this worked for the 2008 Kansas Jayhawks.

Above all else, Teresa was the greatest champion for her three sons. She opened her heart and home to many of their friends becoming known as mother Teresa to all. More recently, she delighted in her first grandchild, Luca Reese Bellerive born on 11-11 as she hoped for. She'll now be a guardian angel to Luca and the soon to arrive baby Cameron.

Teresa is predeceased by her parents, sister Nancy McDermott, infant siblings, Tommy and Cindy. Parent in laws Melvin and Clara Bellerive sister-in-law's Charlene Maurath and Denise Garcia.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Brian, sons Matthew in Salina Alex (Isabel) in Grandview, Missouri and Jacob (Macy) in Kansas City, Missouri, Sisters Patty McDermott and Jean Chavez (Rosendo) both in Salina, Kansas. In laws Michael (Stephanie) Bellerive, Iris (Dick) Strachan, Sharon (Dave) Knight, Janelle (Sean) Robertson, Ed Maurath and Gary Garcia. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family sends thank yous to Dr Sandhu and Dr Abudeh and the incredible staff at the Tammy Walker Cancer Center. We are forever grateful for care you provided for Teresa. Also, a sincere thank you to the wonderful people of Interim Home Health, Anna and Jennifer for the care and comfort in Teresa's final days.
