Choctaw Ave closed north of Ponca for water main work starting Sept. 29

Choctaw Avenue north of Ponca Avenue will close beginning Tuesday, Sept. 29, as Mies Construction replaces a water main, according to a City of Salina construction notice.

Pavement will be removed north of the intersection. Access north onto Choctaw Avenue from Ponca Avenue will be prohibited. Choctaw Avenue will also be closed to through traffic south of Franklin Street, with residents provided access from Franklin Street.

Work is expected to last about two weeks and be completed by Oct. 13, weather permitting. Barriers will be in place for worker safety. Motorists may encounter minor delays and are encouraged to avoid the work zone when possible.
