Kawasaki Mule Destroyed by Fire Near South Cooley Road

A utility vehicle was destroyed by fire Monday morning in the 12000 block of S. Cooley Road.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene at approximately 11:39 a.m. on Oct. 5 and found personnel from McPherson County Rural Fire District No. 2 had already extinguished the fire.

The owner, 38-year-old Heath Patrick of Marquette, told authorities he was working on fencing in the area when the fire started. Patrick reported he had been away from the vehicle when it caught fire.

The 2022 Kawasaki Mule Pro 1000 sustained an estimated $20,000 loss and was considered a total loss.

No injuries were reported. Authorities determined the cause of the fire was undetermined but not considered suspicious.
