Osage Ave closes north of Ponca starting Friday for water main work

Beginning Friday, Oct. 9, Mies Construction will install traffic control and close Osage Avenue north of Ponca Avenue, according to a City of Salina construction notice. Pavement will be removed to replace the water main north of the intersection. Access north onto Osage Avenue from Ponca Avenue will be prohibited. Osage Avenue will also be closed to through traffic south of Franklin Street, with residents provided access from Franklin Street. Work is expected to last about two weeks and be completed by Oct. 23, weather permitting. Barriers will be in place for worker safety. Motorists may encounter minor delays and are encouraged to avoid the work zone when possible. For more information, contact the City of Salina Utilities Department at 785-309-5725.
