UPDATE: Search Continues for Missing Salina Dog Ollie, Family Offers Reward and Asks Public for Help
The search is continuing for Ollie, a missing 4-year-old husky mix who has now been gone for 10 days.
Ollie, a neutered male, has been missing since Sept. 26 after getting out of a gate near Oakdale Park. His owners said he could now be anywhere in Salina and are asking the public to keep watching for him.
They describe Ollie as a husky mix with Australian shepherd, husky and dingo traits. He is black, greyish and blond-tan, with fluffy hair and a fluffy tail that is black on top and blond underneath. His face is mostly black and greyish with blond eyebrows, and his ears fold over slightly at the tips. He is microchipped, and Westside Veterinary Clinic and the Salina animal shelter have both been notified he is missing.
The family said Ollie is skittish and anxious, and they are asking people not to chase him if he is seen. They said he may respond to his name, “Ollie Ollie oxen free,” or “Ollie, do you want a cookie?”
A reward is being offered for information that leads to Ollie being brought home, with no questions asked.
His owners said they have been searching day and night and believe previous Salina311 coverage helped generate attention. According to the family, the first person who turned in their black lab mix said she saw the article on Salina311. They also said another reported sighting of Ollie came from a woman who had seen the Salina311 post.
Anyone who spots Ollie is asked to call, text or message immediately at 785-502-2595 or 785-404-9188.
Please keep an eye out everywhere. The family says they are continuing to look and just want him back home.
