UPDATE: Salvation Army in Salina postpones Angel Tree Christmas registration to Nov. 2-6
SALINA, Kan. — The Salvation Army of Salina has pushed back registration for its 2026 Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Program to the first week of November, citing recent staffing changes.
Families can now register in person or online Monday, Nov. 2, through Friday, Nov. 6. Salina311 reached out to The Salvation Army about this year's Christmas assistance, and Capt. Luke Hursh, corps officer of The Salvation Army in Salina, responded Sunday, Oct. 18, with a news release announcing the updated schedule. The program itself is not canceled. Only the registration dates have changed.
Registration dates of Oct. 19-30 that were shared publicly earlier are no longer accurate.
"We recognize that many families in our community depend on the Angel Tree program to help make Christmas special for their children," Hursh said in the release. "Due to some unexpected staffing changes, we have made the decision to postpone registration until the first week of November. We want to make sure we are fully prepared to serve every family with the care and attention they deserve. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work through these adjustments."
