Salina EDO Budget Draft Reflects Expiration of Two-Year Digital Marketing Commitment
A two-year digital marketing commitment has expired, according to notes accompanying the Salina Community Economic Development Organization's draft 2027 budget.
The draft crosses out a $25,000 digital marketing allocation listed in the supporting detail for advertising and promotion. A separate note states, "Digital marketing allocation expired after the 2-year commitment."
The packet does not identify the provider associated with that commitment, its exact contract dates or the total paid over the two years. It also does not include a performance report showing the effort's reach, business inquiries or recruitment outcomes.
Other marketing expenses remain in the proposed budget. Supporting detail lists website maintenance and hosting, promotional materials and annual meeting expenses. The expiration of the commitment therefore does not establish that the organization plans to discontinue all digital marketing.
The organization reported $56,082.38 in advertising and promotion expenses through September 2026. The financial statements do not separate the amount associated with the two-year commitment from other advertising expenses.
The board is scheduled to review the draft budget October 22.
