Sporting Clays for Scouting draws 150 shooters to Iron Mound Outfitters
Iron Mound Outfitters said it hosted the annual Sporting Clays for Scouting event, with 150 shooters from Salina and surrounding communities making their way through a muddy course to raise money for local Scouting.
The business said every dollar raised goes to youth programs across the Coronado Area Council. A banner at the event listed a silent auction, a gun raffle and lunch.
Kyle Smith, Scout executive for the Coronado Area Council, said in a video from the day that this was the event’s 15th year. He said it drew about 75 or 80 shooters when he arrived about eight years ago. He said the event moved to JRI property after the sporting clays course it used to use closed, and a course was later put in there.
Iron Mound Outfitters thanked Jason and Lisa Ingermanson for donating the use of the sporting clays course, along with the event sponsors and every squad that came out.
