Harry Benton Gibson
January 14, 1929 - October 20, 2026

Harry Benton Gibson, 97, of Salina, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026.
Born to Edna Prue Kerr and Harry Gibson, Harry grew up in Springfield, Missouri. After graduating from high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving three years with the Strategic Air Command. Following his honorable discharge, Harry moved to Denver, Colorado, where he dedicated his career to the Civil Engineering Group at Lowry Air Force Base and the U.S. Air Force Academy. He took great pride in maintaining these vital facilities until his retirement in 1994.
It was in Denver that Harry met the love of his life, Elizabeth Jene “Jane” Kasson, while attending Central Presbyterian Church. Active in the young single adults’ Dinner Club, the couple spent their early dates hiking and skiing throughout the Colorado mountains. They were married on July 1, 1970, sharing 48 beautiful years together.
Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane, and his brother, John Robert Gibson, Sr. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his niece, Jeanne Gibson Sullivan (Bill); his nephew, John Robert Gibson, Jr.; and his two grand-nephews, Connor John Sullivan and Luke Robert Sullivan. To his family, he was their adored "Uncle Bud."
A private graveside ceremony with military honors will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Salina, where Harry will be laid to rest alongside his beloved Jane.
