Kraft Manor Barbershop, founded in 1952, Salina's oldest barbershop
Kraft Manor Barbershop was founded in 1952 and is the oldest still-operating barbershop in Salina.
The shop says it has traditionally been a walk-in shop, and while one of its barbers takes appointments, it still keeps a strong walk-in culture.
According to the shop, barber Erland has served clients in the mid-Kansas area for 65 years and takes walk-ins only, while barber Zach has been cutting hair for eight years and takes appointments.
The shop lists haircuts, straight-razor head shaves, beard trims and razor beard lineups among its services. It says each haircut includes a razor lineup around the ears and neck, a hot towel and a finishing style.
Kraft Manor Barbershop also says it is hiring licensed barbers for a full-time position, and that people interested in barbering who don't have a license can call and ask for Zach.
The shop is at 1841 S. 9th St. and lists its hours as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Its phone number is 785-827-4501. Appointments with Zach can be booked through the shop's website.
