Resident Raises Public Notification Questions on Emergency Service Rules

During the public comment portion of the October 27 Saline County Planning Commission meeting, a member of the public raised questions about the emergency service requirements in the draft data center regulations.

The resident noted that under the draft's emergency service section (1.19), a facility would be required to notify emergency management within three days, but asked when the public itself would be notified. Commissioners responded that emergency management generally notifies the public immediately and follows its own protocol.

The resident suggested the regulations include wording tying public notification to emergency management protocol. The commenter also pointed out a housekeeping issue in which section number 1.22 appears twice in the draft document.
