K-State Salina CEO Alysia Starkey Inducted into Kansas Aviation Museum Hall of Fame
SALINA — Alysia Starkey, CEO and dean of Kansas State University Salina, has been inducted into the Kansas Aviation Museum Hall of Fame for 2025. Starkey, who has led the campus since 2019, has overseen its transformation into a national leader in aerospace and technology education.
Under Starkey's leadership, K-State Salina has expanded its focus to meet all needs of the aerospace industry, including aviation mechanics and advanced air mobility. The campus has secured over $160 million in federal, state, and private contributions, leading to significant developments such as the General Atomics Aerospace Innovation Ramp and the upcoming Kansas Artificial Intelligence Research and Entertainment Studio (K-AIRES).
Starkey's tenure has also seen record enrollment, improved graduation rates, and a complete curriculum redesign. Her efforts have positioned K-State Salina as a premier destination for aerospace and technology innovation and education.
"To be inducted into the Kansas Aviation Museum Hall of Fame Class of 2025 is an incredible honor," said Starkey. "The state of Kansas has a rich aviation history — arguably the best in the country. To be selected with other leaders and innovators who came before me is greatly humbling."
