Salina Police Arrest Man After Reported Threats at North Fifth Street Residence
Salina Police responded to a disturbance on December 8 at approximately 4:30 p.m. at a residence in the 1900 block of North Fifth Street. Officers made contact with a 47-year-old male resident who reported that 46-year-old Walter Cook of Salina had come to the home claiming property belonging to him was inside, reportedly tied to a prior flood event.
According to the victim’s account, he denied having any of Cook’s property. Cook then allegedly became angry and made multiple threats, including statements that he would "kill everyone in the home", "set the duplex on fire", and "shoot up the dueplex."
Law enforcement located Cook a few blocks away on Fifth Street. He was taken into custody and booked into the Saline County Jail on suspicion of criminal threat—cause terror, evacuation, or disruption.
The victim confirmed that he knew Cook prior to the incident. Details regarding the property Cook believed was at the residence, as well as the precise location of the arrest, were not specified. The case remains under investigation.
