New playground at Bill Burke Park now open in Salina

SALINA, Kan. — A new playground at Bill Burke Park is now open to the public, according to Salina Parks and Recreation.

The department announced the opening in a social media post, calling the new playground the latest addition to the City of Salina’s playground system.

“The wait is over,” the department said in the post. “The brand-new playground at Bill Burke is officially open.”

Residents are encouraged to visit the park and check out the new space as warmer weather settles into the area. The city also used the announcement to thank parks staff who helped complete the project.

“A huge shout out to our Parks staff that helped make this happen,” the department said.

The opening adds another updated play space to Salina’s park system and gives families a new option for outdoor recreation on the city’s south side.
