Panda Express Plans New Salina Location on South 9th Street

A new Panda Express location is planned for south Salina.

City documents show the restaurant is proposed for 2755 S. 9th Street, on the east side of Market Place between Market Place Apartments and Sam’s Club. The project is part of the Nine South Addition development.

The proposed restaurant would be a fast-casual location with a drive-thru. The site plan tied to the request includes a new restaurant building and on-site parking.

The project is scheduled for review by the Salina Board of Zoning Appeals because the developer is requesting more parking spaces than city code normally allows for the site. The request seeks approval for 56 parking spaces, while the city’s maximum without a variance is 31 spaces.

City documents do not list an opening date for the restaurant. The current request is part of the city approval process needed before the project can move forward.
