Salina Man Arrested on Arson Charges After Joint Search Warrant Operation
A 33-year-old Salina man was arrested on arson charges following a joint search warrant operation carried out by the Salina Fire Department and Salina Police Department on June 2, 2026, in the 2000 block of Page Avenue.
During the search, investigators seized completed devices suspected of being homemade fireworks and explosives, along with numerous chemicals believed to be used in their manufacture. The State Fire Marshal, Riley County Police Department Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Salina Fire Department HazMat units assisted in the operation. Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians removed the devices and chemicals from the scene and disposed of them.
Christopher Leger of Salina was booked into the Saline County Jail on two counts of arson in connection with separate incidents in which he is suspected of damaging an unoccupied residence by fire or explosion. The Kansas Department of Transportation also assisted in the investigation.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
