Helen Louise Haddock, 96 of Salina, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, independence, and quiet strength.

Helen was born in Salina, Kansas, on December 17, 1929, a daughter of Josephine (Ebert) and Earl Callabresi. She lived a long and meaningful life filled with love and appreciation for life’s simple joys. She was known for her sweet nature, warm smile, and independent spirit. Even into her later years, she maintained a remarkable sense of self-reliance and determination that inspired those around her.

On August 15, 1948, Helen joyfully married Marvin Haddock in Salina, Kansas. The couple has deep roots in Solomon, Kansas, where they lived for many decades, building a life together.

She had a keen eye for antiques and greatly enjoyed attending auctions, always on the lookout for unique hidden gems. Her flower gardens were a source of pride and beauty, carefully cultivated with countless hours of loving attention, and admired by family, friends, and neighbors. She also enjoyed keeping her mind active with crossword and jigsaw puzzles, often spending hours immersed in their challenges.

More than anything, Helen cherished her family. She offered a listening ear, a gentle word of wisdom, and unwavering love to her family and friends. Her home was a place of comfort, and her presence brought warmth to every gathering.

Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Griest (Gary), of Bennington, Kansas; 2 grandchildren, Brad Griest (Calyn) and Amy Farstad (Sam); and 4 great-grandchildren, Ryder, Tailee, Madison, and Emma.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Haddock; her son, Charles Haddock; and her brothers, Richard “Dick” Callabresi and Melvin Callabresi.

Visitation will be on June 4, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, Kansas.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 am. Friday, June 5, at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Solomon, Kansas.

The family requests donations be made to Gentiva Hospice.

Gary Dean Gordon

February 14, 1968 - May 31, 2026

Gary Dean Gordon

Gary Dean Gordon, 58, of Salina, Kansas passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026. He was born February 14, 1968, in Fort Riley, Kansas to Ady Eldridge and Janice Kay (Lyne) Gordon. He attended Salina South High School and participated in track, earning his nickname “Flash Gordon” and played the saxophone in the band. He graduated from South in 1986.

In his free time, Gary pursued many hobbies and interests. Gary enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in every job he held throughout his life. He was a certified EMT in 1990 and worked for Salina Tree Service, Triad, Tonys Pizza, Phillips Lighting and the Salina Water Treatment Plant. For several years he was also a licensed realtor. He loved fishing, building and repairing things, and tinkering with electronics and wiring. Being a gifted mechanic, he could rebuild a car engine on his own. He was an avid aquarium enthusiast who maintained several freshwater and saltwater tanks throughout his years. He was a member of the Quivira Gun Club and enjoyed collecting pipes and tobacco.

Being a dad was Gary's greatest joy. He might not have used words of affection often,, but his actions spoke volumes about how much he loved his boys. Whether he was working on a project, sharing a laugh, or spending time with family, Gary always had an easy going, "it's no big deal" attitude.

He is survived by his children, Christopher Gordon (Amanda), of Hicksville, Ohio and Zachary Gordon (Jessie), of Salina; mother, Janice Gordon; grandchildren, Emma Russell, Aurora Bennett, Riley Gordon, Luke Gordon, Ellie Gordon, Kiera Gordon, Aikido Gordon, Aiden Jones, Adryan Gordon, Kelbi Jones, Anderson Ingalls, Brayden Gordon, and Blayklee Gordon; siblings, Becky Jackson (Joey), Danny Gordon, Steven Gordon (Robin), and Michael Gordon (Sharon).

He is preceded in death by his father, Ady Gordon, sister, Laura Gordon, and his Chinese Crested companion, Bandit.

Graveside service will be in Abilene Cemetery.
