Salina Commission to Consider $12.66 Million Bond Sale Monday
The Salina City Commission is scheduled to consider authorizing the issuance and sale of $12.66 million in General Obligation Internal Improvement Bonds during its regular meeting Monday.
The item appears under the administration section of the commission’s June 8 agenda. Commissioners are being asked to act through Ordinance No. 26-11285 and Resolution No. 26-8357, which would authorize the sale of the bonds.
General obligation bonds are commonly used by local governments to finance public improvement projects, with repayment backed by the city’s taxing authority. The agenda document lists the proposed bond amount but does not include a project-by-project breakdown of what improvements are tied to the bond sale.
The bond item is one of several major financial matters scheduled for Monday’s meeting. Commissioners are also expected to review and receive the city’s 2024 Audit Report from Forvis Mazars, LLP, and consider awarding a construction bid for the Landfill Scale House and Scales project to Vogts Construction of Newton for an amount not to exceed $3,239,888.76.
The regular City Commission meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, June 8, in Room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street. A study session on 2027 outside agency budget requests is scheduled earlier in the day at 2 p.m.
The meeting is open to the public and will also be available through the city’s Zoom and YouTube options.
