Saline County Overnight Shelter Reaches Full Capacity
The overnight shelter operated by Saline County at Kansas Wesleyan University's Pfeiffer Hall has reached full capacity and is no longer accepting additional guests, according to county officials.
The county did not provide information about how many individuals are currently being housed at the facility, when space might become available, or whether alternative accommodations are being arranged for those still seeking shelter.
Original Announcement
Saline County officials earlier announced that overnight sheltering would be available at Pfeiffer Hall on the Kansas Wesleyan University campus in Salina. The shelter was accepting new guests during check-in hours from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the facility reopening for additional check-ins at 8 a.m.
Individuals were asked to bring their own bedding, pillows, and personal items needed for an overnight stay.
The shelter is being operated through a coordination between Saline County, Kansas Wesleyan University, and the American Red Cross.
