Volunteer chainsaw teams in Saline County have completed more than 90 jobs out of over 400 requests for free chainsaw and limb relocation assistance, according to Saline County officials. An additional 90 jobs were assigned as crews continue working through the list.

More volunteer groups are expected to arrive in Saline County tomorrow and Monday, and crews will continue operations as long as volunteers are available. Saline County Emergency Management is coordinating the effort and accepting new volunteers at 785-825-6511.

Residents who need to add their property to the assistance list can call 785-833-7597. County officials are asking residents to be patient and to refrain from calling about crew arrival times unless there is an immediate safety concern, as crews are working through assignments as quickly and safely as possible.
