Lee Buildings Says Staff Working With Residents as Elevator Restoration Continues After Storm
Lee Buildings says staff members are continuing to work with residents following the recent storm, including those who may have mobility concerns, as crews work to restore elevator service at Lee Hardware Lofts.
In a community update, Lee Buildings said it understands the challenges and frustrations residents are experiencing after what it called an “extraordinary storm event.”
“Please know that our team remains committed to the safety, well-being, and support of our residents during this time,” Lee Buildings said.
The update comes as Salina continues recovering from storm-related damage and outages that affected homes, businesses, public facilities, and infrastructure across the city.
According to Lee Buildings, staff has remained in regular contact with residents, especially those who may have mobility concerns.
“Our staff continues to maintain regular contact with residents, particularly those who may have mobility concerns, and we are providing assistance wherever possible,” Lee Buildings said.
The company said Lee Hardware Lofts is not a senior living facility and said it has not been notified of any specialized ADA accommodations that are currently not being met.
“We take great pride in serving our residents and have not been notified of any specialized ADA accommodations that are currently not being met,” Lee Buildings said.
Lee Buildings said it is working with caregivers for residents who need further accommodations. The company also said residents who need assistance should contact the leasing team.
Residents with concerns or specific needs are encouraged to call the office at 785-453-8565. Residents may also contact the regional manager at 316-263-2215.
Lee Buildings also pointed to the age of the properties as one of the challenges involved in restoring normal operations.
“As a reminder, the Lee buildings are more than 100 years old,” Lee Buildings said. “While we are proud to have restored these historic structures after many years of vacancy, there are inherent limitations associated with buildings of this age that were not originally designed to modern standards.”
The company said all applicable building and fire codes were met during the restoration process.
Lee Buildings said some circumstances remain outside of its control but said it is continuing to work with available resources to return the property to normal operations.
The company also said its elevator team has been on site frequently since the night of the storm.
“We are working daily with our elevator team who have been on site frequently since the night of the storm and have not stopped assisting us in the needs of restoring our elevator as soon as possible,” Lee Buildings said.
The update did not provide a specific estimated time for when elevator service will be fully restored.
“Our residents remain our top priority,” Lee Buildings said. “We appreciate the patience, understanding, and support shown by our residents, community partners, and neighbors as we work through these challenges. We remain dedicated to restoring normal conditions as quickly and safely as possible.”
