Salina Forestry Crews Report 236 Right-of-Way Cutbacks So Far in 2026
Salina forestry crews have completed hundreds of tree-related maintenance jobs so far this year, according to the June Parks & Recreation Advisory Board packet.
The department’s 2026 forestry report lists 236 right-of-way cutbacks through May. Crews also completed 19 full tree removals, 46 stump removals, and responded to nine low-limb complaints during the same period.
The largest monthly total for right-of-way cutbacks came in April, when crews completed 54. May followed closely with 51.
Full tree removals increased in May, with seven removals reported for the month. That was the highest monthly total listed so far in 2026.
The forestry report will be part of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board’s June meeting packet. The board is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, in Room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash St.
The agenda also includes a storm cleanup status update, which may provide additional information about tree and limb removal work following recent severe weather in Salina.
Other parks activity listed in the June report includes the opening of the new Jerry Ivey Park splash pad, completion of the Oakdale Park road overlay, cleanup of the Lakewood North shore, and maintenance work at Barkley Park.
