Saline County Sets Wednesday Deadline for Storm Cleanup Assistance Requests

Saline County Emergency Management will stop accepting new requests for chainsaw and limb assistance at noon on Wednesday. Residents who need help cutting trees or moving limbs to the curb must call 785-833-7597 before the deadline. Those already on the list who no longer need help are asked to call the same number to remove their names.

According to the agency, more than 450 properties have been placed on the assistance list. Crews have completed more than 170 jobs so far, with approximately 200 additional assignments currently in progress. More than 80 volunteers are working across Saline County on cleanup efforts.

Emergency management officials asked residents not to call for estimated arrival times unless they have an immediate safety concern. Crews are being assigned based on safety priorities and the capabilities of each volunteer group.

Residents or groups interested in volunteering can call 785-825-6511.
