Salina Woman Killed, Man Seriously Injured In I-135 Crash
A Salina woman was killed and a Salina man was seriously injured Thursday night in a crash on I-135 north of McPherson.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 8:40 p.m. June 25 on northbound I-135 near milepost 67.6, about seven miles north of McPherson.
Investigators said a 2004 BMW Z4 was northbound when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle in the left lane, lost control, and entered the west ditch. The vehicle continued down an embankment and struck a tree on the passenger side before coming to rest facing north near the tree line.
The passenger, 58-year-old Barbara S. Gray of Salina, suffered fatal injuries.
The driver, 58-year-old Edward D. Gray of Salina, was taken to McPherson Center for Health with suspected serious injuries.
The crash was investigated by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
