Salina Police Urge Residents to Reserve 911 for Emergencies on Fourth of July
The Salina Police Department issued a public service announcement ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, asking residents to call 911 only for situations involving an immediate threat to life, safety, or property.
The department said dispatchers and first responders expect a high volume of emergency calls throughout the holiday. Officials shared guidance outlining examples of situations that warrant a 911 call versus those that do not.
The announcement is part of an effort to keep emergency lines available for critical incidents during one of the busiest periods of the year for local first responders in Salina.
