USD 305 Approves $2.2 Million in Storm Repairs, Equipment Replacements
The USD 305 Board of Education approved a series of encumbrances tied to recent storm damage as part of its consent agenda at its Aug. 11 meeting.
The largest item was an encumbrance of $2,195,416.67 to Wray Roofing for roof repairs and replacement at South Middle School as a result of an April hailstorm.
The board also approved $215,875.39 to BSN Sports for the replacement of track and field and baseball equipment at the high schools as a result of a June windstorm, and $36,357.86 to Pyro Zone for the replacement of equipment including scrubbers and carpet extractors.
The consent agenda passed 7-0. Additional items included approval of South Middle School's request to apply for an Earl Bane Foundation grant of $24,038.80 for the purchase of additional instruments, and acceptance of a gift of $28,113 from an education foundation to be used for district recruitment strategies.
