Sheriff's Office Fundraiser Raises Over $2,600 for Special Olympics Team
A fundraiser organized by the Saline County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 6–7 raised $2,682.30 for the Saline County Blue Thunder Special Olympics team. The funds will go toward the team's travel, meals, and other expenses during the season.
Lieutenant Scott Trembley, Captain Jeremiah Hayes, Captain James Hughes, Deputy Kevin Shankle, Blue Thunder athletes, and volunteers staffed the event, which drew support from community members across Salina.
A check presentation is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army building during the next Blue Thunder team meeting.
