Salina Fire Crews Train for Game-Day Medical Emergencies at Stadium
Salina Fire Department crews last week completed specialized training on football-related injuries and concussions, led by athletic trainers from Salina Central and Salina South high schools.
The training began in the classroom, where crews reviewed common athletic injuries, concussion recognition, and patient care considerations. Crews then moved to Salina Stadium for hands-on scenarios involving injured players on the field.
The session also included practice on how to safely access, assess, and remove a spectator from the stands during a medical emergency. USD 305 provided access to Salina Stadium for the training.
