Salina Woman Injured in Rollover Crash While Avoiding Deer
A Salina woman was injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Thursday morning after attempting to avoid a deer on a rural Saline County roadway.
At approximately 1:17 a.m. on Aug. 20, deputies responded to Simpson Road, about 700 feet north of Magnolia Road, for a reported injury crash.
According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office, 20-year-old Diana Leos of Salina was driving a silver 2011 Hyundai Sonata southbound on Simpson Road when a deer entered the roadway.
Investigators said Leos attempted to avoid the animal, but lost control of the vehicle during the maneuver. The Hyundai subsequently rolled over.
Leos, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained various cuts and injuries.
She was transported by Salina EMS to Salina Regional Health Center for evaluation and treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
