Saline County to consider Marshall Motors fleet lease agreement
The Saline County Commission will consider a fleet-management master lease agreement with Marshall Motor Company, Inc. at its Tuesday, Nov. 10, meeting at 9 a.m. at 300 W. Ash in Salina.
The proposal would authorize the county administrator to execute separate vehicle lease orders within the commission-approved budget, with regular updates to commissioners on vehicles, lease commitments and expenditures.
The proposed 2027 budget includes $200,000 to begin the leased-fleet program. Marshall's current base vehicle lease proposal totals $108,026, excluding upfitting. The county intends to pay upfitting costs directly from Equipment Improvement Plan funds rather than include them in the leases.
Replaced vehicles would be sold at public auction, although sheriff's patrol vehicles could instead be transferred or sold to another law enforcement agency. Sale proceeds would return to the equipment fund to help offset upfitting costs.
